Perspective Piece I
|
Perspective Piece I is a piece of performance art inspired by the combination of curation and movement. Imagined to be in the lineage of Roof Piece (1971) by Trisha Brown, and bodies in urban spaces (2007) by Willi Dorner, Perspective Piece I aims to recontextualise how we look at the spaces around us, and asks; how do our contexts inform how we see the world around us?
I have always loved peeking through windows: seeing a table lit by a solitary overhead light, a family bathed in the cold glow from the television, a lone figure leaning out and taking a long drag from a cigarette. Perspective Piece I is a love letter to these moments that I have witnessed across the years, and so I encourage you (the onlooker/watcher/audience) to wander, look at the piece from different angles, look at the different stimuli dotted across the space, and make your own connections to the work. In the future, I hope to create more Perspective Pieces in new locations, with different collaborators, so please get in contact if you would be interested in continuing this project with me. |
